The Hiring Process

Hiring typically takes a few weeks, depending on the role and candidate availability. Some roles (e.g., QA Lead, SDET) include a technical assignment. For others, the process may be streamlined. We aim to keep the experience efficient, often completing it in under a month, sometimes within a week. Each stage is a two-way evaluation process. Either side may decide not to proceed if we find the fit isn’t right.

Applying

You can apply through our careers page. Once your application is submitted, it is tracked in our Applicant Tracking System. Based on the position, you may receive a brief questionnaire or be scheduled for an initial screening call.

Evaluation Criteria

  • Initial Fitment: We assess alignment with the job description and how relevant your previous experiences are to the role.

  • Communication: Clear and effective verbal communication is essential in our asynchronous, remote-first environment.

  • Experience over Title: We focus on the substance of your experience—how you've contributed to quality, led initiatives, or supported cross-functional teams—not just your job title.

Culture Conversation

This session helps determine if there’s alignment in values, interests, and expectations. We also use this space to understand your communication style and give you the chance to ask questions about Axelerant.

We’re not looking for “culture fit” alone—we’re interested in how you might add to our culture through unique perspectives and experiences.

Peer Interview Process

Round 1: Testing Fundamentals & Aptitude

We assess your foundational testing knowledge, your understanding of Agile processes, and your approach to quality assurance. You'll be given various testing conditions and asked to identify possible testing scenarios - functional, UI, accessibility, compatibility, API, etc.

We believe quality is more than just bug detection. We’re looking for testers who think proactively and can embed quality into the process from the start.

Round 2: In-depth Interview

In this round, we’ll explore your work experience and insights in depth. You’ll be asked about challenges, lessons learned, and your approach to solving problems. We may also present hypothetical scenarios to understand how you think on your feet.

Be honest and thoughtful in your responses. We encourage candidates to highlight examples where they learned and applied new skills, evolved their approach, or helped others grow.

We also invite your questions—meaningful conversations are a two-way street, and we value your curiosity.

What We Look For
