Referrals play an important role in our hiring process, as we value the insights and networks of our team members in helping us grow.

What is a Referral Bonus?

A referral bonus amount is a percentage of the new hire’s annual fixed salary. Axelerant provides a referral bonus to team members whose referrals result in a successful hire. Payment is issued after the referred team member completes 100 days of employment.

Axelerant uses differentiated referral bonus percentages to address hiring priorities and labour-market conditions. Certain roles require specialised skills, have limited talent availability, or are essential to meeting operational and delivery needs. To support timely hiring for these positions, Axelerant provides a higher referral bonus. This approach aligns referral incentives with organisational requirements and helps ensure consistent staffing for roles that are critical or difficult to fill.

Referral Bonus Percentages

To find the details on applicable referral bonus percentages, please check this sheet. The referral bonus percentages may be adjusted over time based on the criticality of specific roles, changes in market demand, and the strength of Axelerant’s talent pipeline.

Referral bonuses are subject to applicable taxes and statutory deductions. 

Eligibility

The referral bonus does not apply in the following cases:

  • The referring team member is part of the Recruitment team.

  • The referring team member participated in the candidate’s interview or selection process.

  • The candidate would directly report to the referring team member.

  • The referring team member is part of Axelerant’s senior leadership team (including CEO and Directors).

  • The candidate is an Axelerant alumnus, intern, or former contractual worker.

Scope and Applicability

  • There is no limit to the number of referrals a team member may submit.

  • If multiple team members refer the same individual, the referral will be attributed to the earliest valid submission received by the Recruitment team.

  • A referral remains valid for six months from the date of submission. After this period, the same individual may be referred again.

  • Enhanced referral rates apply only to the specific roles listed here at the time the referral is submitted.

How to Refer a Candidate

Team members must follow one of these approved steps:

  • Inform the Recruitment team by posting in #job-referrals after the candidate has applied to an open position. The recruitment team may reach out to get more details on the relationship you share with the applicant.

  • Referrals submitted through direct messages (DMs) will not be considered valid.

How to Receive the Bonus

Once the referred team member completes 100 days of employment:

  • The referring team member must email people@axelerant.com to initiate the referral bonus process.

  • All referral bonuses are processed through payroll and may be subject to taxation.

Conflict Resolution

Questions or concerns about scope, rates, or eligibility must be directed to the People Care team by raising a PD ticket.

The Recruitment Team is responsible for making final decisions on all disputes. Decisions are made to ensure consistent and compliant application of this policy.
