Who is responsible for giving feedback at Axelerant?
Everyone. Feedback isn't limited to managers—team members are encouraged to give and request feedback from peers, managers, reports, coaches, and stakeholders. A feedback culture thrives when it's collaborative and multi-directional.
3. How can I frame my feedback?
Use the SBI Model (Situation–Behavior–Impact). It helps keep feedback specific, objective, and focused on the effect of the behavior rather than assumptions or judgments. The model is for everyone—managers, team members, and peers. It supports clear, respectful, and actionable communication across all levels.
4. When should I give feedback?
As soon as possible. Whenever you feel you have some developmental feedback to give, that’s the most impactful time. Don't wait for formal reviews or issues to escalate—share your inputs while they're fresh and relevant.
5. Can I use AI to help draft or review feedback?
Yes! Team members are encouraged to use tools like ChatGPT to ensures clarity, empathy, and effectiveness while delivering your feedback.
Use prompts to:
Refine your tone to professional yet polite
Practice delivery in structured SBI format
6. What if I disagree with the feedback I receive?
You're expected to consider all feedback thoughtfully but you're not required to act on every piece. If you choose not to act on certain feedback, communicate your reasoning with empathy and context.
7. How should I respond when someone gives me feedback?
Always start by listening with openness and thanking the person, even if the feedback is difficult. Then, follow the five-step approach mentioned in Feedback, Receiving.
What should I do if a team member shares feedback about another team member with me as a manager and does not share it with them directly?
Encourage the team member to share the feedback directly with the individual, and offer guidance or support on how to do so constructively. If the feedback is critical and impacts team dynamics or performance, you may need to step in and help facilitate the conversation or share the feedback yourself in a respectful, solution-focused way. You can also suggest that the team member connect with a coach for additional support in navigating the conversation.
9. Are quarterly reviews used to raise performance concerns?
No. Quarterly reviews offer a structured summary of performance and growth. Urgent or importance concerns are shared real-time via Leapsome’s Instant Feedback feature.
10. If I receive critical feedback during a quarterly review, what happens?
If critical feedback is shared during a review cycle, it must also be documented as Instant Feedback. This ensures that the sensitivity of the feedback is communicated clearly and doesn't get lost in a broader review summary.
11. What if I consistently ignore feedback?
Consistently dismissing relevant feedback—especially if it affects your performance—may lead to separation from Axelerant. There are no traditional Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) here, so it’s important to take feedback responsibly and communicate your next plan of action.
12. Can I request feedback even if it's not review time?
Absolutely. You’re encouraged to request feedback at any time, especially after milestones, challenges, or personal check-ins.
