Hello there! At Axelerant, we truly value personal growth, self-discovery, and the occasional need to take a step back from work. We've crafted this guide with our core values of enthusiasm, kindness, and openness in mind. If you choose a sabbatical, we're eagerly looking forward to welcoming you back, reenergized, and brimming with fresh perspectives.

Purpose:

Embracing personal growth and well-being, our sabbatical leave is designed to offer team members a chance for self-discovery, quality family time, or a well-deserved break, promoting a balanced life.

Eligibility:

Full-time team members with three years of continuous service qualify for a sabbatical.

Duration:

Sabbaticals range from one to four months. Team members are expected to join work on the date mentioned and approved in their sabbatical leave request.

Paid/Unpaid:

For those pursuing studies, sabbaticals are paid for up to one month; other reasons are unpaid but enriched with your valuable experiences.

Notice:

Plan ahead! A friendly heads-up to your manager and then a quick email to People Ops three months in advance is all it takes.

Frequency:

Experience a sabbatical for every three years of uninterrupted full-time service.

Post-Sabbatical:

No team member-initiated separation requests will be accepted for one year post-sabbatical.

Application:

To apply for your sabbatical leave simply chat with your manager, submit through our platform, and receive final approval within a week.

Return:

Please inform People Ops about your return 15 days before your last leave date via people@axelerant.com so your team will be ready to welcome you back!

Compensation:

  • Axelerant's medical insurance will continue to cover you and your dependents.

  • Your consolidated leave will be prorated to 2.9 days per month from April 1st for the months you will work in that fiscal year.

  • Pension contributions, such as IRA, PF/VPF, etc., will not be made during this period.

  • According to the Payment of Gratuity Act of 1972, sabbatical leave does not interrupt service continuity and will not affect the gratuity amount.

Axelerant Property:

Keep it safe! You can hold onto Axelerant property responsibly; just remember, a little care goes a long way.

Business Needs:

At times, business needs may require your early return to work. In such cases, you can extend your sabbatical leave by a corresponding period to accommodate the time when you resumed work ahead of the originally agreed-upon return date.
