Welcoming–Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging
Axelerant’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) program is rooted in the principle of welcoming.
Axelerant is a collective representation of people with individual differences in thoughts, personalities, capabilities, and talents. Regardless of differences such as nationality, geography, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, physical abilities, family status, religious beliefs, perspectives, experiences, or other ideologies—every person is valued and respected.
Axelerant appreciates, respects, and supports all dimensions of diversity.
Axelerant believes equity means fair and just practices for everyone.
Axelerant has zero tolerance for any form of discrimination.
Axelerant welcomes everyone aligned with our values and committed to contributing meaningfully to their role.
We foster a globally aware and inclusive team.
How can I be more inclusive?
As Fairforce puts it in "7 Ways to be More Inclusive in Your Everyday Life", inclusion can be woven into both professional and personal interactions through small, intentional actions:
Accept that we all have unconscious biases.
Communicate mindfully: listen actively, speak thoughtfully.
Challenge stereotypes when you encounter them.
Avoid making assumptions.
Ask thoughtful and respectful questions.
Be aware of your own privileges.
Take initiative to educate yourself.
Stay open, stay curious, and don’t be afraid to make mistakes and learn from them.
Inclusive language promotes respect, dignity, and impartiality—ensuring that no one feels excluded.
Check out Buffer’s Incomplete Guide to Inclusive Language for practical tips on using inclusive language in tech and startups.
Speaking Up
If you believe you’ve witnessed or experienced conscious or unconscious bias or discrimination, we encourage you to speak up.
Let the individual involved know that their behavior may be unwelcome or offensive. Share Axelerant’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion policy with them to help raise awareness. Educating each other fosters understanding and a culture of accountability.
While speaking up may not eliminate all effects of the behavior, it helps de-escalate the situation and promotes a return to a safe and inclusive environment.
When escalation is needed, refer to our Safe Space process for support.
