Feedback, Receiving

Feedback, Receiving

Receiving feedback is essential for professional growth and it is not always easy. We recognize that developing this skill takes humility, openness and a commitment to learning. In addition to principles from Radical Candor, Axelerant follows the Netflix model of candid communication and growth.

We use Leapsome to facilitate structured feedback exchanges. Here's how team members are expected to respond constructively and professionally:

Receiving Feedback

Learn how via Leapsome.

1. Acknowledge and appreciate

  • Acknowledge Promptly: When feedback is shared on Leapsome, confirm receipt to show engagement.

  • Appreciate the Effort: Giving feedback—especially tough feedback—takes courage. Listen openly, without defensiveness.

  • Express Gratitude: A simple, sincere “thank you” sets a respectful, growth-focused tone.

  • Seek Context: Ask for specific examples to better understand the feedback if needed.

2. Clarify and Reflect

  • Ask Thoughtful Questions: If something is unclear, seek clarification. Reach out to a coach or manager if needed.

  • Reflect Before Reacting: Pause and consider: “What can I learn from this?”—especially when it’s hard to hear.

3. Act with Intention

  • Create an Action Plan: Define clear next steps and make them visible to relevant stakeholders.

  • Follow Through: Take ownership of your growth. Demonstrate progress within agreed timelines.

4. Accept or Decline- responsibly

  • Consider all feedback provided: Thoughtfully reflect on every input, but you are not required to act on it.

  • Communicate Decisions: If you choose not to act on feedback, explain your reasoning with empathy and clarity.

  • Understand the Consequences: Repeatedly disregarding feedback that impacts performance may lead to separation. Axelerant does not use performance improvement plans.

5. Adapt and grow

  • Be Culturally Aware: Feedback norms vary globally. Stay mindful when engaging across cultures.

  • Stay Curious and Humble: Listen first, learn continuously, and adjust your style to build meaningful connections.
