Client/Contractor Team Member Hiring
Axelerant is committed to maintaining respectful, ethical, and mutually beneficial relationships with both clients and contractors. This policy outlines the standardized process to be followed when considering candidates currently engaged with our clients or contractor partners. These guidelines help ensure fairness, transparency, and legal compliance while upholding our core values of collaboration and professionalism.
By following this process and obtaining the necessary approvals, we aim to minimize the risk of any misunderstandings or conflicts and foster positive, long-term partnerships.
Process Overview:
When a candidate currently employed with a client or contractor expresses interest in working with Axelerant—either by applying directly or being referred by a team member—the Recruitment Team will connect with them to gather the following information:
The role they are interested in
Their compensation expectations
Their earliest availability date
Whether they are comfortable with us reaching out to their current employer for consent prior to starting the interview process
What’s next?
A private discussion Slack channel will be created by the recruitment SPOC using the format #hiring-<preferred_name>-<client_or_contractor_name>
.
The following stakeholders will be added to the channel:
Relevant Account/Partner Manager of the client/contractor
Once the channel is created, the Recruitment SPOC will share all collected information and keep the channel updated throughout the process.
Approvals
Scenario 1: Candidate Consents Before Interviews
If the candidate is comfortable with us contacting their current employer before the interviews:
The Recruitment SPOC will request written confirmation from the candidate.
Upon receiving it, the Account/Partner Manager will reach out to the client/contractor to request consent.
Any response from the client/contractor should be shared in the Slack channel (screenshots/email confirmations are encouraged for record-keeping).
Scenario 2: Candidate Prefers Consent Later (At Offer Stage)
If the candidate is not comfortable with us contacting their employer before the interview, but is open to us doing so before the offer:
The Recruitment SPOC will consult the Account/Partner Manager about the importance of the role.
Based on this discussion, a decision will be made on whether to proceed with interviews.
Consent will be sought only if the candidate reaches the final decision stage.
Scenario 3: When the candidate disagrees to take consent at any stage.
If in any scenario, we do not receive the approvals, we will not move forward with the application.
Once the recruitment team obtains the necessary approvals, they will update the applicant tracking system (ATS) and proceed with the culture conversation.
Post-Culture Conversation Review
If the candidate clears the Culture Conversation:
A. If They Have Previously Worked with Axelerant
Request the Account/Partner Manager to share their experience.
Invite any team members who have worked directly with the candidate to provide feedback.
Based on the collective feedback, a decision will be made on whether the standard hiring process should be followed or adapted.
B. If They Have Not Worked with Axelerant Before
Proceed with the standard recruitment process.
Offer Process
For candidates from Scenario 1, if selected, move directly to the offer stage.
For candidates from Scenario 2, obtain formal employer consent at the decision stage before extending the offer.
Once the outcome is confirmed (offer accepted or declined), the recruitment SPOC will:
Notify the channel
Express gratitude to all involved
Archive the Slack channel
