Child Care Allowance
At Axelerant, we are committed to supporting our team members in balancing their professional responsibilities with family care. Starting October 1, 2021, Axelerant offers a Child Care Allowance to assist parents, guardians, and other primary caregivers with expenses related to childcare for children from six months up to the age of five.
This allowance can be used toward daycare center fees or payments made to a nanny for up to two eligible children.
Reimbursement Details
Up to INR 5,000 / USD 100 per child, per month
Applicable to children up to 5 years old
Can be used for daycare center fees or nanny services
To claim the Child Care Allowance, please provide:
The child’s birth certificate
Receipts from the daycare center, or
Proof of payment to the nanny
(for India-based team members: online payment proof along with the nanny’s Aadhaar card copy, in accordance with applicable data privacy regulations)
Note: If both caregivers are employed at Axelerant, the allowance (INR 5,000/USD 100 per child) can be claimed by only one caregiver per child.

How do I apply for the Child Care Allowance at Axelerant?

What documentation is required to claim the Child Care Allowance?
Please provide receipts or invoices from your childcare provider that clearly show the date, amount paid, and provider details.
What is the process for submitting receipts and other proof of childcare expenses?
Upload your receipts to the Zoho Expense portal under the Child Care category. Make sure the documents are clear and legible to avoid delays.
How long does it take to process the Child Care Allowance application?
When you submit your claims by the 12th of the month, we process them between the 16th and 17th. Submissions after the 12th will be processed the following month to ensure timely reimbursements.
How frequently can I apply for the Child Care Allowance?
We recommend submitting monthly to streamline your reimbursements, but you are welcome to submit more frequently if that suits your needs.
Who is eligible for the Child Care Allowance at Axelerant?
All permanent team members with children up to five years old are eligible for this benefit.
Up to what age of children does the Child Care Allowance cover?
The allowance covers children up to the age of five.
Can I claim the Child Care Allowance for children older than five years?
Currently, the allowance supports children up to five years old, in line with pre-school age.

Can both parents claim the Child Care Allowance if they work at Axelerant?
The Child Care Allowance is provided per child, not per parent. If both parents or guardians work at Axelerant, one caregiver can claim the allowance for each eligible child at a time.
Can I claim the allowance while on maternity, paternity, or sabbatical leave?
The Child Care Allowance can be claimed or resumed once you return from your leave. We want to ensure every team member has the opportunity to make use of this benefit when they’re back at work and balancing professional and family care.

While monthly claims are preferred for efficiency, you can submit an annual receipt if you've paid for the year upfront. We’ll reimburse you monthly based on the annual claim.
Is the Child Care Allowance amount the same for all team members?
Yes, the allowance amount is standardized across the board to ensure fairness and support for all team members.
How does the Child Care Allowance vary based on the number of children?
You can receive up to INR 5,000 per month for one child.
If you have two children, the support increases to INR 10,000 per month, helping meet your family’s growing needs.
